/ a heart gills
In July 2025, I published a pamphlet of poetry with Short Pieces that Move, a publishing project and reading/writing group based in Rotterdam, co-run by Kate Briggs, Annabelle Binnerts, Linus Bonduelle, Ash Kilmartin and Petter Dahlström Persson. It includes three poems (Palestine), My mother is pictured alone on her wedding day, and The Ghost Ship.

‘A heart gills contains dispatches from a life submerged by generational patterns and colonial violences, netted in unrequited love. Still, even at the end of the world, a body listens and adapts. It seeks some impossible way to breathe. New-limbed, strangely-organed, it sings as it changes, lamenting the loss of irreplaceable worlds.’
